Lost your job? Don't know what to do? Concerned about being older and having to find work in an uncertain economy? Can't figure out your next steps? How will the bills get paid?
No matter the setback, a lemon can still be made into lemonade. It all depends on your mindset. With the right mindset, you can begin to view your setback as an opportunity for you to show up and use your expertise in ways you've never had to before.
Who would have thought there would be a global pandemic in what was expected to be an ideal year for achieving dreams with a clear 2020 vision? Many people had their sights set on making it their dream year. This crisis was unexpected. Unfortunately, sometimes "life happens" when you least expect it. In late 2014, I didn't expect to learn that I would lose my job of 15 years effective the next year -- with 20 years in the industry. Life dealt me a bitter lemon. I chose to get through that difficult situation by sweetening it with a positive attitude and outlook. It is the best option for getting through hardship so you don't become overwhelmed with worry and stress. Keeping my mind open, balanced, and clear was important. Writing gave me solace and something productive to focus on. During that uncertain period, I wrote my first book: "God Sets You Up Manifesto." I was able to turn that setback into something useful. Whatever your situation, get your mind right.
We don't always get to choose what happens to us. But we do get to choose how we respond to it. Remember, a lemon still makes lemonade!
